This Vegan Green Peppercorn Gravy is super creamy, hearty, delicious, yet simple and quick to make, ready in only 10 minutes! It's the perfect companion for our Vegan Christmas Spiced Swedish Meatballs and our Swedish Style Vegan Christmas Ham. Mildly spicy, it will add amazing flavour to any of our Vegan Meats recipes.

Homemade Cashew Cream

  • In a high-speed blender, combine the cashews and water, and blend until very smooth (no cashew pieces left).

Vegan Green Peppercorn Gravy

  • Put a small saucepan over medium-high heat, and heat the vegan butter until it's melted. Stir in the flour, and mix well, using a whisk, until a paste has formed.
  • Now stir in the cashew cream you previously made in the blender, vegetable broth, ginger powder, Japanese soy sauce, dark rum, and green whole peppercorns, and continue stirring with the whisk until it thickens. It will take a few minutes.

Notes

  • Store in the refrigerator in a sealed container for up to 5 days.
  • If you don’t eat gluten, feel free to use cornstarch or any gluten-free flour.
